The perimeter is a 3/4 x 3/4 in welded steel tube frame carrying 1/2 in square-tube forged steel pickets in a decorative scroll pattern, with expanded steel mesh backing the grille to keep insects out while air and light pass through. A heavy-duty lockbox with a 2-3/8 in backset accepts a standard lockset or keyed deadbolt, and the reversible build hangs left- or right-handed to match the entry behind it.
