Door Axis 36 in x 84 in K-Frame Plank Knotty Pine Sliding Barn Door with Track Hardware Kit
Reviewed pricing, lead time, freight, and final configuration are confirmed during quote review before order release.
The Door Axis 36 in x 84 in K-Frame Plank Knotty Pine Sliding Barn Door pairs a classic rail-and-brace barn face with a complete matte black surface mount track kit. It serves homeowners and remodelers who want a craftsman or farmhouse focal point on a pantry, closet, laundry, bedroom, or den opening without giving up floor space to a swinging door.
The slab is a 1.38 in thick solid core panel, 36 in wide by 84 in tall, faced with a vertical plank field, full-width top and bottom rails, and the namesake K-pattern diagonal braces on both faces so the door presents finished from either room. The Unfinished Knotty Pine variant is solid knotty pine, sanded smooth and ready for stain, clear coat, or paint, with the knots and grain movement natural pine is chosen for. The Auburn variant carries the same K-Frame geometry as a factory finished composite slab with a deep red-brown distressed woodgrain face that installs with no finishing step. Both ship as a complete kit: a 78.75 in matte black flat rail that mounts at 85.75 in above the floor, two top-mount roller hangers, end stops, anti-jump blocks, an adjustable floor guide, a matching pull handle, and lag fasteners with anchors for a blocked header. This size is stocked as the 36 in x 84 in slab; additional sizes are quoted on request.

Installation Notes
- Measure the clear opening and casing before ordering: the 36 in slab overlaps the opening about 1 in per side and covers up to a 32.5 in clear opening without casing, 30.5 in with standard casing; door height should equal opening height plus 1 in.
- Fasten the rail through the wall finish into a continuous wood header board or solid blocking lagged into studs; drywall anchors alone will not carry an 80 to 90 lb sliding slab. The rail centerline sets at 85.75 in above finished floor.
- Hang the slab, then set the end stops and anti-jump blocks and adjust the hangers so the door glides level along the full rail length.
- Install the floor guide plumb under the door path at the jamb line so the slab tracks straight without contacting the wall, and hold about a 1 in gap between the door bottom and finished floor.
- Finish the Unfinished Knotty Pine variant on all six sides, including top and bottom edges, before hanging to limit moisture movement in the pine. Do not trim the slab; trimming voids the warranty.
Warranty and Support
- 1 year limited manufacturer-backed warranty, confirmed during quote review.
- Quote packages include hardware adjustment guidance and finishing notes for unfinished pine.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the two finishes?
Unfinished Knotty Pine is a solid knotty pine slab, sanded and ready for your stain, clear coat, or paint. Auburn is the same K-Frame face built as a factory finished composite slab in a deep red-brown distressed woodgrain, ready to hang with no finishing step.
What opening sizes does the 36 in door cover?
Plan on about 1 in of overlap per side. Without casing the slab covers clear openings up to 32.5 in wide; with standard casing it covers openings up to 30.5 in. Door height should equal opening height plus 1 in.
Is the track hardware included?
Yes. The kit ships with the 78.75 in matte black rail, two roller hangers, end stops, anti-jump blocks, an adjustable floor guide, a pull handle, and the lag fasteners and anchors. Soft-close dampers are not included; alternates are reviewed during quote review.
Does the K pattern show on both sides?
Yes. The plank field, rails, and K braces are built into both faces, so the door presents finished from inside and outside the room.
