Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really waterproof?
Yes. The plank is solid vinyl construction and waterproof from all sides. Standing water still needs to be addressed at the subfloor and perimeter, but the plank itself does not swell or delaminate.
What does the wear layer number mean?
The wear layer is the clear protective film over the print layer, measured in mils. 20 mil is a commercial specification thickness; thicker wear layers survive more traffic before showing wear-through.
Does it need underlayment?
No. The pad is attached to the plank. Install directly over a flat, dry, structurally sound subfloor per the installation document; a vapor retarder may be required over concrete.
