Prezio Stone Azul Bahia Granite Slab Program
Reviewed pricing, lead time, freight, and final configuration are confirmed during quote review before order release.
Azul Bahia is the most famous blue stone on earth, a Brazilian sodalite syenite whose royal blue reads almost electric under polish. Cream and gold mineral webbing moves through the field like current, and no two bundles repeat. It is the definitive statement surface for bars, islands, and jewel box powder rooms.
Slabs run approx 105 x 65 in from sequential bundles. Traded as granite, the sodalite matrix takes a glassy polish that carries the color; honed and leathered faces shift it toward stormy slate blue. Supply is genuinely limited, so allocations are confirmed early and approved on current lot photography during quote review.

Installation and Care Notes
- Fabrication and installation by qualified stone professionals only; this program supplies material and sequencing documentation to your fabricator of record.
- Field template verification is required before cutting; nominal slab dimensions are planning figures and every lot is confirmed against the released slab list.
- Seam placement and vein flow direction are approved on drawings during quote review before fabrication begins.
- 2 cm tops require continuous plywood substrate or engineered support at spans and overhangs; 3 cm spans further and typically carries overhangs to 10 in without corbels, confirmed by the fabricator.
- Seal all faces and edges before grouting or first use, then follow the resealing cadence in the care schedule.
- Edge profile, sink and faucet cutouts, and backsplash heights are selected and priced at quote.
Program Support
- Every slab is graded on arrival and allocated from sequential bundles for consistency
- Current lot photography is issued for approval during quote review before any slab is released
- Support continues through templating and installation questions with your fabricator of record
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the blue really natural?
Yes. Sodalite is a naturally blue mineral; no dye or resin tinting is involved. Depth ranges from cobalt to violet blue by lot and is approved on photography at quote.
How rare is Azul Bahia?
Genuinely rare; quarry output is limited and bundles sell through quickly. Confirm allocation early in the project timeline at quote.
Is it durable like common granite?
It handles counter duty with sealed care, though sodalite is slightly softer than quartz granites; use cutting boards and pH neutral cleaners to keep the polish pristine.
Which finish shows the most color?
Polished, without question. Honed and leathered faces read stormy and architectural, a deliberate choice for wall cladding.
