Prezio Stone Calacatta Gold Marble Slab Program
Reviewed pricing, lead time, freight, and final configuration are confirmed during quote review before order release.
Calacatta Gold is the reference point for Italian statement marble, quarried in the Apuan range above Carrara. A warm white field carries broad, branching veins that move from soft grey into unmistakable gold, so a single slab reads as both classical and current. Designers reserve it for the surfaces a room is built around: waterfall islands, full height ranges of backsplash, and vanities that deserve gallery treatment.
Slabs run approx 105 x 65 in and are allocated in sequential bundles, which keeps vein flow continuous across islands, returns, and bookmatched elevations. Choose polished for maximum depth and reflectivity or honed for a soft, matte read that hides wear gracefully. Every lot is photographed and approved during quote review, so the stone that ships is the stone you signed off.

Installation and Care Notes
- Fabrication and installation by qualified stone professionals only; this program supplies material and sequencing documentation to your fabricator of record.
- Field template verification is required before cutting; nominal slab dimensions are planning figures and every lot is confirmed against the released slab list.
- Seam placement and vein flow direction are approved on drawings during quote review before fabrication begins.
- 2 cm tops require continuous plywood substrate or engineered support at spans and overhangs; 3 cm spans further and typically carries overhangs to 10 in without corbels, confirmed by the fabricator.
- Seal all faces and edges before grouting or first use, then follow the resealing cadence in the care schedule.
- Marble is acid sensitive; specify pH neutral cleaners and prompt wipe downs in owner handover documents.
- Edge profile, sink and faucet cutouts, and backsplash heights are selected and priced at quote.
Program Support
- Every slab is graded on arrival and allocated from sequential bundles for consistency
- Current lot photography is issued for approval during quote review before any slab is released
- Support continues through templating and installation questions with your fabricator of record
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does veining vary between slabs?
Calacatta Gold is a high movement marble and every slab is unique. Bundles are kept in quarry sequence, so adjacent slabs flow together. Your quote includes current lot photography for approval before allocation.
Should I specify 2 cm or 3 cm?
3 cm is the standard for kitchen countertops and islands, with cleaner unlaminated edges and longer unsupported spans. 2 cm suits vanities, cladding, and furniture, or full kitchens where the fabricator details a supported build up.
Which finish is right for a working kitchen?
Honed is the working kitchen choice for marble. It mutes etching from acids and keeps a soft, even sheen as the surface ages. Polished delivers the deepest color and is well suited to vanities, walls, and lower traffic surfaces.
Can I get bookmatched slabs?
Yes. Slabs are allocated in sequence, and bookmatch pairs or four slab quarter matches are reserved on request at quote so mirrored veining lands where your drawings call for it.
