Prezio Stone Petrified Wood Gemstone Surface Program
Reviewed pricing, lead time, freight, and final configuration are confirmed during quote review before order release.
Petrified wood is geology you can read: whole fossil cross-sections, tree rings turned to agate over millions of years, assembled into large-format surface panels. Warm browns, creams, and rust tones make it the most livable gemstone surface for counters, floors, vanities, and furniture.
Each panel sets full fossil rounds edge to edge so the growth-ring structure stays legible across the field, bonded to an engineered composite backer and finished polished. The material is quartz-replaced wood, hard and dense, suited to working surfaces with standard stone care. Panel layout is unique and approved on lot photography.

Installation and Care Notes
- Panels are fabricated as semi-precious stone faces on an engineered composite backer; fabrication and installation by qualified stone professionals only.
- Bond to flat, fully cured substrates with the adhesive class specified by the fabricator of record; full-contact bedding prevents hollow spots under point loads.
- Edges are finished by edge lamination with matched stone strips so counters, waterfall ends, and reveals read as solid material; edge details are approved on shop drawings at quote.
- For backlit assemblies pair the panel with an even-output high-CRI LED field, hold a consistent standoff, plan seams against the lighting grid, and ventilate the light cavity.
- Seal the stone face with a penetrating sealer suited to semi-precious surfaces at installation; clean with pH neutral products only.
- Field template verification is required before cutting; nominal panel dimensions are planning figures confirmed per lot.
Program Support
- Quote first program: quantities, panel formats, and production timing are confirmed in writing before any order is placed.
- Panel lot photography is approved during quote review so the delivered surface matches the approved reference.
- Support covers submittal documents, substrate and bonding guidance, and fabrication questions through the quote team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is petrified wood durable enough for kitchen counters?
Yes. Petrification replaces the original wood with silica, so the working face behaves like quartz-family stone: hard and scratch resistant. Seal at installation and clean with pH neutral products.
What do the patterns look like up close?
Full cross-sections show tree rings, bark lines, and mineral color zones in browns, creams, and rust. The hero and swatch images are unretouched regions of an installed island face.
Are lighter or darker mixes available?
The source range includes light and dark fossil mixes and strip-cut textures. This program releases the classic round-section mix; other cuts are reviewed at quote when project imagery is required.
