Plastic wells are one piece moldings in gray and neutral tones that will not rust or need paint, in widths from 37 to 44 in., projections from 12 to 19 in., and heights from 12 to 24 in. Galvanized steel area walls cover the 37 in. width in 12, 18, and 24 in. heights for jobs that call for metal, and two compact galvanized vent wells guard 20 in. foundation vent openings. Every well fastens to the foundation through side flanges and sits on an open bottom, so a gravel drainage bed below the unit carries water to the footing drain. The 37 in. x 12 in. x 24 in. plastic area wall stacks and bolts for deeper wells, and matching covers are sized to the well footprints in the companion cover program.

Included Equipment

  • Window well or area wall unit
  • Pre punched flange fastening points

Installation Notes

  • Excavate around the window or vent, set the well so its top sits above finish grade and below the sill, and check that the flanges land on sound foundation wall.
  • Anchor through the side flanges with masonry fasteners rated for the foundation material; do not rely on backfill to hold the well.
  • Place a gravel drainage bed at least several inches deep at the base, tied to the footing drain where available, before backfilling.
  • Backfill in lifts against the outside of the well only, keeping soil pressure even so plastic walls stay true.
  • Slope finish grade away from the well so surface water sheds around it, not into it.

Warranty and Support

  • Warranty coverage is confirmed during quote review before release.
  • Quote packages include sizing review against the window opening and grade conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pick the right well size?
Match the width to clear the window frame with room to work, the projection to the required clearance, and the height so the top sits above finish grade. Share the window size and grade depth during quote review and the sizing gets confirmed for you.

Do the wells include anchors?
No. Anchoring fasteners are sourced separately so they match your foundation material: concrete, block, or poured walls each take different anchors.

Plastic or galvanized steel?
Plastic wells will not rust and never need paint. Galvanized steel suits jobs that specify metal or see heavy contact. Both fasten and drain the same way.

Can I make a well deeper than 24 in.?
Yes. The 37 in. x 12 in. x 24 in. plastic area wall is stackable and boltable for deeper assemblies. Deeper configurations are reviewed during quote review.
